A new job and the holidays have kept me quite busy lately, but rest assured, I have some interesting articles planned for the next few weeks and into the next year.

Thanks for the Metrolink video. Next October will see the 20th Anniversary of the opening of the San Bernardino, Ventura and AV lines. I rode the first train out of Pomona, and had to get a ride from a fellow railfan to get back there (no off-peak service then). Now we have about three dozen trains to choose from. I can also add that my older daughter, whose first main-line train ride from LA to Pomona was on the Santa Fe “Chief”, now rides the “San Berdoo” line from Covina to her new job in the LA Civic Center area.
Dang, 20 years already. I remember getting up at about 3 AM and driving from West LA to Moorpark in order to get the very first Metrolink train….rides were free that week, and boy, was that train crowded.
